Contact lenses-caring for your contact lenses and your eyes

New contact lens wearer tips

Wearing contact lenses is a really great way to give yourself the independence of daily wear glasses. I'm not saying that you should wear your contact lenses every day, but is good especially on weekends if you're doing sport so make sure you have the peripheral vision and comfort, as well as not having to worry about those pesky goggles slip his nose during perspiration.

If you are new to contact lenses there are some points which are: it is worth remembering that you use your lenses and make sure that you don't have problems with their lenses and especially your eyes wearing these lenses.

1. never wear you lenses for more than eight hours in a day. The way that your eyes contact lenses treat is as a topping on them and for your eyes get good oxygen is important not to have them covered for a long time. Of course wearing during eight hours is good, but you wouldn't want to use them over a 16-hour day.

2. Soak your lenses in a solution free thimerosal. Years ago I thought I was allergic to thimerosal and because of this my eyes would get red of wearing my contacts. After I started using a contact lens solution free of thimerosal I was fine.

3. Change often lenses.I wear disposable lenses and I have tried over the years to increase the number of days that I can use my lenses before releasing them. This is a bad idea.I found this wearing my lenses for more than a couple of weeks leads to protein deposits uncomfortable, as well as the vision of snow.

4. If there is something in your eye off the lenses. If you get dust or other waste some foreigners in your eye immediately take your lens off and rinse that stuff off your eye before putting your contacts back. If you just wait for dirt exit the eye you then run the risk of scratching your eye so uncomfortable, since it can be that can also be dangerous and lead to infection.

5. never touch their eyes with their hands. oils that are in your hands and dirt can create grease stains on your contact lenses you can avoid this, cleaning and carefully wash your hands before touching your eyes and contact lenses.

Hope these tips help. Although it may seem a daunting prospect for some that I have been a user of contact lenses and by turning off for 20 years and really like the independence that my contact lenses give my on my glasses.
