Contact Lens Wearing Time

Until 1979, all those who wore contact lenses removed and cleaned them every night. The introduction of "extended wear" enabled users to sleep in your contacts. Now, two types of lenses are classified by wearing Time:

* Daily wear — should be removed during the night

* Extended wear — can be used during the night, usually during seven consecutive days without removing

"Continuous Wear" is a term that is sometimes used to describe 30 consecutive nights — the maximum lens wear wearing time approved by the FDA for certain brands of extended wear lenses.
